Sabine Raml

Sabine Raml was born in Essen in 1973, growing up predominantly on a camping site there. She has won several prizes for her prose writing, including the 2010 Literature Award of Ruhr and the Literature Award of Westlotto and the GWK (the Society for Westphalian Cultural Work). A finalist in the sixteenth ‘open mike’ competition in Berlin in 2008, she was also a finalist for the MDR (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk) Literature Prize in its seventeenth year. In 2013 her manuscript of HELDENTAGE (‘Do What You Love’), a novel for young people, was awarded the City of Oldenburg’s Children’s and Young People’s Book Prize. It was published in 2015 by the Heyne imprint, Heyne fliegt. Berlin has been home to Sabine Raml for many years.
